A Snapshot of Your Day
Winston Salem Manufacturing and Repair facility is currently seeking a Plant Manager with an operational responsibility of more than 350 employees (salaried and hourly) and an annual budget of over $75 Million. This leadership position works with the Head of Large Generator Network and Charlotte Energy Hub. The key management responsibility includes all operational aspects for the three primary product lines producing new components and servicing of products while collaborating with key stakeholders to drive improvements to meet long term goals for the business. This role would also lead all aspects of and have full site responsibility for Quality, Environmental Health & Safety (QEHS), manufacturing and governance.
How You'll Make an Impact
  • Proven leadership that drives Environmental, Health & Safety (HSE) as the cornerstone of the operating groups
  • Lead the development and implementation of lean manufacturing processes to ensure that all processes and products conform to Siemens-Energy standards while meeting all quality objectives.
  • Conceptualizes and advises the definition of the largest and most complex projects, selecting sources and monitoring results.
  • Directs the largest and most complex projects, including project organization, definition, planning, execution and control for manufacturing centers of competency (CoC's).
  • Conceptualizes and directs technical standards, advises the development of the most complex manufacturing technology developments and procedures.
  • Successfully defines workflows, jobs, and reporting relationships to obtain optimum effectiveness.
  • Area of responsibility has high strategic, long-term impact. Often is required to build/conceptualize new systems, programs, or products with significant business impact.
  • Full responsibility for the development and management of multiple organization budgets and business plans that include new product introduction, Capital Investment, and new technology introduction.
  • Identifies cross-functional resource needs with complete authority to approve identified needs.
  • Develop and implement initiatives to reduce lead times and to make products more cost-efficient.
  • Experience and in-depth knowledge of power generation products is a significant asset.
What You Bring
  • A bachelor's or a master's degree in engineering or equivalent years of work experience (10 or more years of relevant work experience)
  • Ten or more years of direct industrial leadership experience, in depth knowledge and/or exposure to a large/complex manufacturing.
  • At least 10 years of technical and commercial experience directly related to the power generation industry is strongly preferred. Specific experience in power generation engineering and manufacturing is ideal.
  • Hands on experience/knowledge with precision brazing, welding, ceramic coating, and advanced machining in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Lean manufacturing experience including the ability to independently develop and drive the strategic quality direction for the organization.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing SPS systems (or similar), Order management, Quality, and customer interfaces highly desired.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
About the Team
Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
