SAIC is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join our energized team as we embark on a large AI initiative for the Department of Defense.
The Senior Platform Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying system platforms that enable software applications to work efficiently and effectively. The Senior Platform Engineer works on developing a shared platform that integrates the latest AI and Machine Learning (ML) workflows, tools, and services. The Senior Platform Engineer collaborates with developers and Senior Program Management to ensure that the shared platform's infrastructure is reliable, scalable and capable of handling the needs of the applications over time.

Key Responsibilities:
- Designs and implements scalable and reliable system platforms that enable effective and efficient software applications.
- Provides full-scope system, application, network, storage, and security management support for the platform.
- Conducts daily design activities and facilitate the improvement of development culture.
- Runs diagnostic tests that verify the correct hardware design.
- Participates in one or more design teams to research and to deliver content, design artifacts, user research, User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX), and visual designs to meet user needs.
- Performs technical decision-making, defines successful outcomes, and owns engineering execution.
- Monitors and optimizes the performance of the platform infrastructure and applications following industry and company best practices.
- Identifies and delivers effective solutions to problems that may arise with the platform infrastructure and the applications that use it.
- Ensures design requirements and ADA compliance are met.
- Identifies, recommends, and assists with integration of the latest AI/ML workflows, tools, and services.
- Designs continuous integration and development pipelines for applications.
- Assesses the current platform baseline, identify opportunities for improvement including recommendations for software and services and provides recommendations for implementing innovations.
- Works with product management to direct priorities and ensure successful execution.
- Researches current and emerging AI/ML and data analytics technologies and proposes changes where needed.

Required Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Active Secret security clearance
- A bachelor's degree in computer sciences, information systems, computer engineering, or a related subject with 9 years experience, or equivalent work in a related field in lieu of degree.
- Demonstrated project management skills such as good leadership, planning, organizing, and supervising skills.
- Expertise in programming and scripting languages, networking concepts, visualization, cloud computing, container technology, and databases.
- Excellent collaboration skills to enhance cooperation with stakeholders and internal teams to ensure objectives are met.
- Demonstrated aptitude for troubleshooting and delivering solutions creatively.
- Excellent analytical skills to evaluate, interpret, draw inferences, and make recommendations on data.
- Proven ability to accommodate shifting priorities, technologies, techniques, and timelines.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills to plainly and concisely articulate technical concepts.
- A master's degree in in computer sciences, information systems, computer engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with cloud computing infrastructure and platform solutions on at least one of the large Cloud Service Providers (CSP); Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments and across multiple security enclaves or networks.
- Familiarity with Department of Defense operations, requirements, and organizations.
