Position Summary:

The Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), is in search of a Post-Doctoral Fellow to join Dr. Yuesheng Zhang's lab. The research focus of our laboratory will be on overcoming cancer resistance to EGFR and HER2 inhibitors and activating/reactivating p53 and its mutants. The department has a group of outstanding scientists in pharmacology and drug abuse research, and the successful applicant will have the opportunity to work with them and get assistance in developing an independent career in the research field.

Required Qualifications:
  • Applicants should have a PhD, MD or equivalent degree
  • Proven skills and experience in the research areas of cancer pharmacology and cancer biology, in particular, cancer developmental therapeutics and cancer drug resistance.
  • The ideal candidate should have publication records in peer-reviewed journals that demonstrate significant findings and use of various laboratory techniques, as well as experience in use of preclinical tumor models
  • Must have a demonstrated commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion in past experiences or a commitment to do so as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at VCU
