Position Description and Responsibilities:

The Department of Physical Therapy in the College of Health Professions is looking to hire a post-doctoral fellow to assist with a funded 4-year research study to develop a measure of prosthetic attention for use in persons with limb loss. This position is a restricted position, and is contingent upon grant funding for continuing employment.

The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for the following responsibilities:
  • Managing the day-to-day operations of the project under the guidance of study PI
  • Collection and analysis of participant data and assist in dissemination of project results
  • Supervision of a Graduate Research Assistant and will be responsible for
  • Assisting with additional research activities including maintaining Human Subjects approvals and coordinating with the Research Study Coordinator and clinical staff to identify and schedule participants.
Required Qualifications:
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Must have completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in a health-sciences related discipline by July 1, 2022.
  • Excellent writing skills required, as evidenced by publications or grant-writing experience
  • Must possess strong self-motivation, problem-solving ability, and open communication.
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with individuals with lower limb loss.
  • Experience with mixed methods research designs.
