The Karen Aboody M.D. lab is in search of a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to develop and carry out stem cell studies involving targeted delivery of oncolytic virus to invasive cancers. This is a Translational Research Lab - we are involved with FDA IND-enabling and first-in-human clinical studies, as well as a biotechnology partnership.

As a successful candidate, you will:
  • Investigate stem cell delivery of oncolytic viro-immunotherapy to target glioma, breast cancer, and ovarian cancer in animal models.
  • Be expected to independently design and manage projects, analyze data, prepare manuscripts for publication, submit grants, and present at national scientifically conferences.




Your qualifications should include:
  • A doctorate degree and/or relevant background in immunology, neuroscience, biology, or pharmacology. Immunology expertise will take priority.
  • Training in flow cytometry, PCR, immunohistological techniques, ELISpot, PCR, viral vectors, and cell transduction.
  • Experience with small animal surgeries, necropsy, tissue harvest and cryosectioning.
  • Individuals must be able to work independently and have a minimum of 8 years' experience with lab techniques listed above.
  • Authorship in peer-reviewed publications required.


Preferred qualifications:
  • The lab asks for a commitment of at least 2-3 years.
