Research
  • Design & execute experiments, present research findings at lab meetings, collect & maintain data, develop manuscripts to showcase research findings, maintain EHS policies in the lab, and maintain lab equipment.
  • Communicate regularly and in a timely fashion with the PI regarding research and other issues relevant to the operation of the laboratory.
  • Assist with the daily operations of the laboratory
  • Assist with the supervision of the other members of the laboratory
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Position Summary

The Postdoctoral Associate will be primarily involved in developing and carrying out research projects in the areas of synthetic medicinal chemistry (related to drug discovery and chemical biology) and/or microbiology. More specifically, duties include the design & execution of experiments, presenting research findings at lab meetings, collecting & maintaining data, developing manuscripts to showcase research findings, maintaining EHS policies in the lab, mentoring and training graduate or undergraduate students (as needed), and maintaining lab equipment.

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position

Expertise in one or more of the following areas:
  1. Synthetic medicinal chemistry
  2. Organic chemistry
  3. Complex molecule synthesis
  4. Microbiology
  5. Bacterial biofilm research
  6. RNA-seq related to bacteria


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

Excellent communication skills and hands-on experience from previous training (typically, PhD training is sufficient) are utilized in this position.
