The University of Florida's Kenneth C. Griffin CS for All Education Initiative seeks candidates for a 12-month, full-time postdoctoral scholar position to support the research and development of programs and resources in K-12 computer science teacher preparation. In collaboration with the PI, Dr. Maya Israel, the postdoctoral scholar will engage in research as well as development, organization, and dissemination of programs and activities in support of building a sustainable teacher preparation program in computer science education at the University of Florida and throughout the state of Florida. The postdoctoral fellow will plan and coordinate data collection and analysis for the project. This is a 12-month time-limited non-tenure accruing appointment.

Job Description:
Works collaboratively with the Principal Investigators and senior personnel on activities such as:
- Plan and lead research studies within the scope of the funding guidelines, including supervision of graduate students, managing IRBs, etc.
- Design, develop, test, and refine K-12 Computer Science Education (CS Ed.) materials for use in classrooms and as professional development resources
- Help teach/facilitate preservice computer science teacher preparation activities
- Collaborate on grant writing activities
- Participate in dissemination efforts including media communications and scholarly writing
- Collaborate with faculty around CS integration across disciplines within the UF College of Education, and across the university
- Other duties as assigned by the PI
Commensurate with experience and expertise.
Minimum Requirements:
- Doctoral degree in computer science, computer science education, educational technology, or other related fields
- Experience with qualitative and/or quantitative research methodologies
- K-12 teaching experience in CS Education or evidence of work with K-12 teachers in non-teaching roles
- Knowledge of CSTA standards for students and teachers
- Experience and knowledge of Universal Design for Learning and/or of instructional strategies focused on students with diverse learning needs (e.g., students with disabilities)
- Strong background and familiarity with research literature on K-12 CS education
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team structure; manage multiple tasks and be flexible
