The Drive Inverter Firmware team is looking for an Embedded Firmware Engineer to develop, verify, and validate embedded firmware for power electronics and motor controls, enabling our vehicles to drive. In this role, you will work closely with the Hardware and Controls teams to architect, implement, test, and deploy safety-critical software on next generation products and existing systems.

Responsibilities
  • Development of real-time embedded software that implements control and safety management of the Drive Inverter
  • Develop automated tests to ensure high quality software releases and accurate functionality
  • Be involved in the full life cycle of firmware development from concept through integration, test, and release to our growing fleet of vehicles
  • Work closely with the hardware and control teams to specify hardware actuation and sensing requirements
  • Develop and optimize firmware for motor controls and power electronics


Requirements
  • 1+ years of relevant experience in real-time embedded software development
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or the equivalent in experience
  • Proficiency in C
  • Experience with reading electrical schematics and understanding circuit behavior
  • Knowledge of microcontroller peripherals such as ADC, GPIO, PWM and SPI
  • Familiarity with control loops and PID controllers
  • Knowledge of version control (Git) and continuous integration (Jenkins) preferred
  • Familiarity with Hazard and Risk Assessment (HARA) and/or Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) preferred

    • Expected Compensation

      $104,000 - $348,000/annual salary, depending on level + cash and stock awards + benefits

      Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
