Duties: Designs, develops, and maintains products with embedded systems. Designs and develops software and supports hardware design for real-time control and data acquisition in embedded product platforms with diverse scope and complexity. Produce software designs that meets requirements. Write source code required for completed designs. Ensure that designs, design decisions, and implementations are documented. Test and debug units to ensure that software conforms to the design and to customer requirements. Define software systems required to support Design Verification and Function Testing. Work with Electronics Developers to ensure that electrical designs meet software requirements. Ensure that documents and source code files are archived in Parker's version control system. Provides technical information for review with product engineering teams applying consistent engineering practices, standards, and documentation methods (e.g., structured design process; customer design reviews). Contributes to the completion milestones associated with specific projects (e.g. create functional diagrams and system layouts; review detailed drawings and schematics; define data structure, interfaces and programming logic; analyze material requirements; research customer data item requirements). Reviews product specifications to ensure clarity, completeness, form, fit, function, and conformity to standards and procedures. Identifies design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and recommends revisions, engineering change orders, and improvements to engineering management or the project team. Maintains and further develops professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications, and/or participating in professional associations. Shares specialized knowledge with others. Assists in mentoring new employees. Remote work permitted within a reasonable commuting distance of the Rohnert Park, California Office.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field and six (6) years of experience as a Motor Controls Engineer, Sr. Motor Controls Engineer, Motor Controls and Validation Engineering, or related job where required experience is gained. Also requires at least 6 years of experience in the following:

• Embedded software development using C and C++ on real time systems;

• Motor and power electronics control;

• Field Oriented control and sensorless design; and

• Troubleshooting tools such as JTAG, SWD, LANScope and inverterGUIs, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.

SALARY: \$175,000 to \$206,000 per year
