PR Specialist, Amazon Prime

Amazon is seeking a highly-organized, self-motivated and high-judgment professional to join the Amazon Prime Communications team. This individual will help lead high visibility public relations initiatives for Prime in the U.S. and around the world.
Key job responsibilities
This role will be responsible for tracking, managing, and organizing workflow across the Prime Communications team-and in some cases across Amazon and/or with third-party companies-in the U.S. and worldwide. The ideal candidate should have demonstrated expertise in writing, media relations, project management, influencer relations, and social media. The ideal candidate is able to work autonomously as well as cross-functionally; have experience communicating across multiple teams and/or external agencies; a proven track record identifying efficiencies, reducing siloes, and facilitating cross-functional collaboration; is able to identify and track industry trends and coverage, circulating it with the appropriate stakeholders. This individual should be a self-starter, have an eye for details, and enjoy wrangling multiple people and projects. They'll display poise and sophistication in rapid-moving situations and become fast friends with a number of internal teams throughout Amazon.
Key Responsibilities
• Act as a PR business partner with the WW and U.S. Prime business
• Collaborate with internal stakeholder teams across Amazon to drive successful programs
• Successfully manage complex, fast-moving and unexpected communications challenges
• Develop workback timelines for tactics
• Help drive proactive coverage for U.S. Prime initiatives by pitching and securing top media, including print, broadcast and online outlets; build excellent relationships with key media
• Manage reactive media inquiries in the U.S. when necessary
• Support strategic launches for U.S. Prime
• Serve as a global liaison for Prime with communications leads in other countries and other Prime benefit businesses
• Write key messaging, press releases, briefing documents, and other external and internal materials for PR
• Manage external PR agency on monitoring and reporting guidelines, coverage reports, and end-of campaign metrics
• Identify key industry trends and announcements, drafting an analysis, and circulating with the appropriate stakeholders
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of experience in public relations (in-house and/or agency).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- The ability to bring together a large group of stakeholders and lead them toward a common goal.
- The ability to self-motivate and work autonomously at times.
- Outstanding attention to detail and bias for action.
- Standards so high most people would find them unreasonable.
- Thrives in a collaborative environment and is willing to roll up their sleeves to get the job done.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $68,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $147,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
