PR Specialist, Consumer, Amazon Devices \u0026 Services

Amazon is seeking a driven, savvy and creative PR professional to support US Consumer PR campaigns for the Amazon Devices & Services business. In this role, you will execute programs targeting lifestyle media and influencers in support of brands across the Amazon Devices portfolio, including Alexa, Fire TV, Kindle, Blink and Ring.
The successful candidate will have significant experience supporting small to large-scale integrated consumer campaigns and creative news generation. They will also be comfortable providing counsel and guidance to a wide variety of counterparts across multiple disciplines, juggling numerous priorities on tight deadlines, and being an organized and thoughtful leader. The PR Specialist role is hands-on and requires a team player willing to roll up their sleeves to get the job done.
The role is high on Think Big, Bias For Action and Ownership - this person will be able to work fast, Deliver Results, demonstrate strong judgement and have exceptional attention to detail. As this is a cross-org role, this team member needs to be able to work collaboratively and productively with a matrix of PR and business partners, as well as external agencies.
Key job responsibilities
• \tServe as a consumer PR expert with a demonstrated understanding of what resonates with a brand's audience.
• \t Drive project management for consumer PR campaigns that align with business objectives while generating media coverage.
• \t Represent PR and support project management for integrated consumer campaigns in partnership with cross functional teams.
• \t Identify and execute storytelling opportunities based on cultural events and news cycles.
• \tBuild, guide, and execute PR plans, including communicating plans internally and securing leadership approvals.
• \tManage and guide proactive Consumer PR announcements.
• \t Provide counsel to cross-functional teams on PR strategies, approaches, and messaging.
• \tWrite and evolve messaging and talking points for press interviews, FAQs, and press inquiries
• \tDevelop and manage relationships with a range of top-tier lifestyle media contacts
• \t Help manage a third-party agency to support PR activities
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience.
- Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, or a related field.
- Experience promoting consumer products and brands within a PR agency or in-house.
- Extensive experience demonstrating comfort in dealing with high-level consumer media contacts across news, lifestyle, and broadcast sectors.

- Proactive self-starter with a proven track record of taking initiative.
- Passion for technology, pop culture and trends.
- High levels of creativity.
- Experience working with and managing multiple stakeholders on cross-functional projects.
- Experience supporting in-person events or activations.

- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Solid relationships with top-tier media and influencers.
- Ability to develop hooks/angles/campaigns of interest to press.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $68,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $147,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
