Our Team

Pentucket Medical ExpressCare serves patients of all ages and is open seven days a week to help patients when they are sick or injured and can't get in to see their primary care doctor. Our services are designed to close the gap between primary care and emergency care by offering prompt, walk-in treatment for non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a full-time Practice Assistant to cover shifts at both of our ExpressCare locations:

  • 370 Merrimack Street Lawrence, MA
  • 323 Lowell Street Andover, MA


Schedules include both weekday and weekends shifts and will rotate, depending on the week.

General Overview

Practice Assistants perform all functions necessary to get patients ready for their visit. Essential functions include:

• Welcome patients into the clinic with an emphasis on excellent customer service.

• Identify at-risk patients based on qualifying symptoms and alert clinical leads for immediate action.

• Perform full patient registration functions, including collecting demographic information, insurance verification, and eligibility.

• Identify and schedule patients according to visit type, previously established care, and ancillary service.

• Collect co-payments based on Provider specialty type and issue receipts.

• Transcribe external orders for ancillary services.

• Utilize a web-based patient care tracking system.

• Schedule patients for all testing being done at the ExpressCare clinic based on acuity and appointment accessibility.

• Answer all incoming phone calls to ExpressCare, create telephone encounters to establish communication with the clinical team, and redirect non-applicable calls to various departments.

• Correspond and coordinate with ExpressCare contracted accounts.

• Comply with specialized billing workflows pertaining to worker's compensation and specialty billing.

• Quickly adapt to new workflows, scheduling, and registration for new services acquired by ExpressCare to support local communities based on emergent needs.

• Actively communicate with clinical staff to enhance clinic efficiency and control wait times.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • A minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Experience:
    • A minimum of 1 year of customer service experience.
    • Previous experience in a medical office environment preferred.
    • Urgent Care experience preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Bilingual preferred
