Full-Time Pre-Op/PACU RN

Bristol Surgery Center, a leading multispecialty surgery center, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Full-Time Pre-Op/PACU RN to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients in the Pre-Operative (Pre-Op) and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) settings. This role is critical in ensuring patient safety, comfort, and satisfaction throughout the surgical experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Pre-Op:
    • Prepare patients for surgery by completing pre-operative procedures and ensuring all necessary documentation is accurate and complete.
    • Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families.
    • Administer medications and IV therapy as prescribed.
    • Monitor patients' vital signs and address any concerns or abnormalities.
  • PACU:
    • Provide immediate post-operative care, monitoring patients' vital signs, pain levels, and overall condition.
    • Administer medications and treatments as needed.
    • Ensure patients are stable and ready for discharge or transfer to another unit.
    • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team regarding patient status and care plans.

Required Skills:
  • Must be a Registered Nurse with an unrestricted license in TN
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Must have at least 1-3 years' previous experience in PreOp or PACU
  • Must have current BLS certification
  • Current ACLS certification
  • Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
  • Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
  • Must be an excellent team player and have the ability to communicate with staff, patients and physicians.
