Job Description:

The Prelicensure Track Coordinator serves as the ASN Program Administrator and provides continuous quality oversight for the educational component of the Associate in Science in Nursing (ASN) Program.

Successful candidates should be academically and experientially qualified to accomplish the mission, goals, and expected program and student learning outcomes. In collaboration with the CNA will provide leadership and guidance to the program staff and faculty in alignment with the Massachusetts Board of Nursing Registration (MABORN), American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and other professional standards and guidelines.

This position is a non-tenure, faculty, full-time position with quality oversight and teaching responsibilities as allowed by regulations, specific to the ASN program.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • In collaboration with the Chief Nurse Administrator work with the ASN program faculty to build a curriculum from a foundation of core courses that scaffold into increasing depth and breadth of academic and clinical functioning.
  • Ensure that emerging and current knowledge, and practices are addressed in the ASN component of the curriculum.
  • Engage in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) of the program through the systematic program evaluation plan.
  • Align the course schedule with other programs and cohort site requirements.
  • Teaching as arranged by the Chief Nurse Administrator and allowed by regulation.
  • In collaboration with the Chief Nurse Administrator secures clinical sites and clinical contracts to ensure providing optimum educational experiences to meet requirements of the ASN curriculum and to meet state and national regulations/requirements.
  • Review student orientation for clinical practicum to ensure effective orientation of students and preceptors (if applicable) with clinical rules, regulations, and experiences for student learning outcomes.
  • Attend training and continuing education as required and provided.
  • Engage in shared governance of BPU engaging in nursing education committees, School of Health and Natural Science meetings, and university-wide committees/meetings.
  • Collaborate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of nursing policies for congruency with university policies, ensuring any differences are justified by nursing program goals and outcomes.
  • Ensure to maintain all licensure, clinical, and university requirements.
  • Perform any other duties or tasks as assigned by the University.



Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Master's degree (nursing) or an earned entry level doctorate in nursing is required. Doctoral (PhD, EdD, DNS, DNP) preferred.
  • Minimum of three years or equivalent of successful nursing education experience and evidence of scholarly and creative activity is required.
  • Minimum or five years nursing experience or equivalent required in past eight years.
  • Current, active, and unencumbered license, as a Registered Nurse in the territory of practice required (Massachusetts).
  • Experience as a program administrator for a pre-licensure program is preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and networking skills.
  • An ability to work in a team environment.
  • Leadership, project management, analytical, and strategic skills.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, use good judgment, work in a vibrant academic environment, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in computer and data management information systems.
  • Ability to negotiate, creatively problem solve, and interact in diverse clinical settings.
  • Ability to adhere to University policies and procedures.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and within FERPA and HIPAA guidelines.
  • All new employees must complete the FERPA, Anti-Harassment, and any other required online training within 15 days of employment.
