Intuit is looking for a highly passionate, customer-obsessed individual and aspiring leader to fill a key position as a Principal, Business Development for the External APIs business at Intuit. The External APIs business team is seeking a talented and experienced individual to establish product market fit and drive revenue for a new emerging business by engaging with both business personas and technical end users. This individual's business acumen and experience will help identify prospects, conduct outreach, engage customers, drive developer inputs into the product roadmap, negotiate terms, and close and nurture early customers. This individual will directly impact strategic learnings, revenue growth, and will help build a trajectory-changing business from the ground up. This position will report to the Director, Business Leader, and External APIs, and will have significant exposure across both internal and external executive and developer teams. You will work closely with and not limited to GTM strategy, product management, product marketing, strategic partnerships, sales engineering and support teams to achieve revenue outcomes. The ideal candidate will have experience in fintech API platforms, services, and integrations and a demonstrated track record of success in early-stage sales and business development.

This individual should be an end-to-end strategic thinker understanding industry trends and anticipating customer problems. The individual also can influence internal and external audiences with data-driven insights and compelling storytelling.

Responsibilities
  • You will own the revenue outcome - identify prospects, conduct outreach, engage customers, drive developer inputs into the product roadmap, negotiate custom terms, close early customers
  • Learnings - Work in partnership and as a trusted thought leader with the product, GTM Strategy, and other leaders to inform and influence business strategies (e.g., customer problems, key product gaps, new commercial models)
  • Expand the opportunity - Grow existing accounts by securing follow-on business; expand API footprint
  • Work with Product Marketing and other teams to nurture business personas and grow developer engagement in your accounts
  • Drive complex contract negotiations with larger enterprise organizations by collaborating closely with internal cross-functional team members
