Principal Electrical Test Engineer

Insight Global is looking for a Principal Electrical Test Engineer to support one of our largest defense clients in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Principal Electrical Test Engineer is responsible for supporting a critical product sustainment program. They would perform hands-on troubleshooting of failed hardware returned from the customer, establish requirements to address obsolete subsystems and components, perform trade studies on commercially available replacement parts, lead functional test efforts to quality new item use, and support all technical sustainment initiatives. The product the EE will be working on includes power supplies with filtering, analog receivers and transmitters, processors, FPGAs, RF switching, antennas, and digital communications interfaces. Finally Principal Electrical Test Engineer will perform test and troubleshooting of customer hardware, provide engineering support to manufacturing during build and repair activities, help with test equipment updates and modifications, and lead efforts to source or design replacement parts for obsolete or near obsolete items.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelors degree in Aerospace or Electrical Engineering, or a degree in a related field
5+ years of professional experience as an Electrical Engineer
Experience with RF principals, test or design
Power Supply experience
Active security clearance or ability to obtain quickly

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

DOD experience heavily preferred
Experience with MIL-STD-1760, 1553 and/or RS-170
RS170 video experience
Masters in Aerospace or Electrical Engineering
