About the job

As a Principal Engineer for Data Center Platform Security, you will have a focus on the key security features required for Google Platforms Hardware and Systems. In this capacity, you will support a variety of engineering leaders across multiple teams. This role is critical to the support of new product launches at the bottom of the software stack.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $278,000-$399,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Conduct research into new network, encryption, CPU isolation, and root of trust technologies and standards.
  • Make recommendations on technology direction, balancing security with high availability and performance at scale.
  • Deploy and manage remote attestation, secure boot, disk locking, and network firewalling technology.
  • Plan, deploy, and manage rollouts for critical vulnerability mitigations in firmware and kernel software, monitor deployment of security rollouts, and troubleshoot where required.
  • Orchestrate the delivery of security measures in a dynamic environment with constant new product introduction across servers, ML, Cloud, networking, and storage.
