Within the Xbox Platform & Experiences Commerce (XPC) division, the Data and AI Team supports game developers in making informed decisions using data across various aspects of their games, ranging from in-game analytics to strategies for monetization. We furnish essential data services and AI-driven insights that empower game creators to advance their operations. Our analytics tools enable developers to boost player involvement, loyalty, and revenue.

We're seeking an experienced Principal Manager, Product Management to spearhead and progress the data product strategy within Xbox Commerce. This pivotal position provides an chance to mold the experience of game developers and publishers on the Xbox platform by supplying business intelligence tools throughout all Xbox interfaces. Collaboration with game studios and publishers to grasp their needs for data and insights will be critical, as well as partnerships with data and AI engineering leaders to cultivate influential products that escalate player engagement, purchases, and contentment.

In this role you will manage a team of product managers and technical program managers, leading the realization of the product direction through distinct targets and anticipated results. This role requires an understanding of navigating and communicating technical implementation, assessing market landscape and modeling total addressable markets, business impact and returns on investment to inform product direction, as well as having the ability to partner tightly with engineering leadership to align and deliver. The role also requires an ability to lead by influence, helping to bring partner organizations along in understanding the roadmap, business outcomes, and shared success opportunities. Experience delivering transformational solutions within gaming OR complex scale data systems to impact business growth is critical to this role.

This team is primarily located in U.S. PDT. The ability to operate in standard U.S. PDT business hours is critical.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, own and execute product strategy and direction
  • Build and lead a team of product managers and technical program managers responsible for driving the development of a suite of data and AI tools for gaming studios and publishers
  • Design, implement, and refine intricate and technical projects in collaboration with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Drive business outcomes, building a business plan, go-to-market strategy and product positioning
  • Mentor and grow other Product Managers and Technical Program Managers

Qualifications:

Required/Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
o OR equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years people management experience.
  • 4+ years' experience managing complex cross-group, cross-business, cross-disciplinary projects.
  • 2+ years' experience working with data or AI products such as: data pipelines (data collection), data distribution products, data analysis products or similar.
Preferred/Additional Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
o OR equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years people management experience.
  • 6+ years experience managing complex cross-group, cross-business, cross-disciplinary projects.
  • 4+ years experience working with data or AI products such as: data pipelines (data collection), data distribution products, data analysis products or similar.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering transformational solutions within gaming OR complex scale data systems to impact business growth.
  • Demonstrated experience with digital storefronts is a plus
  • Demonstrated experience with Gaming studios and publishers is a plus
Product Management M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
