Description Amazon Shipping (SWA) will be the simplest shipping service provider (SSP) to work with, offering better reliability and an industry-leading shipper and recipient experience at the right price point within every marketplace we operate. Over the last 25 years, Amazon has built a world-class operations business to scale with Amazon Fulfillment Network (AFN) delivery needs and enable new and innovative recipient experiences. Amazon Shipping has developed the technology, commercial expertise, and operational processes to externalize this network, reducing overall costs to Amazon through incremental density and monetizing our logistics capability. Amazon Shipping serves both internal business and external customers. To further build and expand our solutions, Amazon Shipping Product Management organization is seeking a Principal Product Management Tech focused on Package Problem Solving, Loss, and Deviation Management. The role will involve collaborating with technology groups across the entire AFN organization to integrate third-party packages seamlessly into Amazon's core architecture. Additionally, you will partner with operational teams to identify areas where package deviations and negative outcomes are likely to occur, designing innovative technology solutions and processes to proactively address these challenges. The ideal candidate will be a natural problem-solver with a passion for continuous improvement, enthusiastic about tackling complex package management issues. You will be comfortable navigating ambiguity and working cross-functionally to implement effective solutions that enhance the overall package delivery experience. You should have a proven track record of building strong relationships across functional areas such as Technology, Operations, Engineering, Commercial, and Finance, and driving alignment to meet and exceed program goals.

Key job responsibilities

Package Problem Solving: Leverage your expertise to identify and resolve complex package-related issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement effective solutions that enhance the overall package delivery experience.

Package Loss and Deviation Management: Work closely with operational teams to identify potential areas of package deviation and loss, developing robust technology and processes to mitigate risks and ensure package integrity throughout the delivery lifecycle.

Partner Tech Integration: Partner with technology groups to establish third-party transportation as first-class citizens within our core architecture, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster strong relationships with teams across the organization, including product, technology, operations, engineering, commercial, and finance, to drive alignment and facilitate smooth implementation of package loss related initiatives.

Continuous Improvement: Continuously analyze and optimize existing processes and technologies, identifying opportunities for enhancement and driving ongoing improvements to package management and delivery.

Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development of long-term strategic plans, ensuring alignment with the organization's goals and objectives while anticipating and addressing potential package-related challenges proactively.

Market and Product Strategy: Stay informed of industry trends, competitors, and market developments to identify opportunities for differentiation and innovation. Define and prioritize product features, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Execution and Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to develop and oversee comprehensive product launch plans.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree

- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

- Experience technical product management

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements

- Experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement

- 5+ years of experience in package management, logistics operations, or a related field, with a strong understanding of package flow and delivery processes.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $161,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $279,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
