Job Description:

As a Business Operations and Program Management Office (PMO) Leader, your primary responsibility will be to lead business cadences and the PMO across the Avionics business. You will coach program managers leading new development programs through the pursuit, planning and execution phases ensuring performance through effective monitoring and control. You will need to build and influence cross functional teams to perform through application of the Commercial Aviation Ethos, which includes world class teamwork, driving accountability, and versatility to build a culture of excellence that will wildly exceed customer expectations. The responsibilities for the Principal, Program Management, include, but are not limited to.

Essential Functions:
  • Lead the process improvement culture within the Program Management team, improving the Program Management Processes and assisting in identifying and resolving capability gaps across the team.
  • Improve Program Management processes across the total product life cycle leveraging gated controls. The life cycle includes customer ownership, pursuit activity, development efforts, program cost, schedule, and functionality. In addition, responsible for process controls around outsource activities and alliance partners executing per financial and development schedule agreements.
  • Responsible for the management of customers, including the management of their expectations, customer satisfaction and scope.
  • Contribute to the evolution and growth of the Commercial Aviation products as a critical member of the proposal team involved with business case development, pursuit activities and capture for both development and sustaining opportunities.
  • Ownership and accountability for customer relationship and scorecard performance and the associated internal performance measures. Work across the functions to identify and plan activities required to continuously improve upon performance variances from business case objectives.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office and Project Management tools.
  • Leverage continuous improvement methodologies to ensure program performance and increase business effectiveness.
  • Utilize core program management planning elements such as requirements planning, deliverables definition, milestone definition, risk management, resource management & critical path scheduling are key.
  • Knowledge of Earned Value techniques and reporting are required.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.


Preferred Additional Skills:
  • MBA or advanced degree.
  • Program management experience with embedded engineering development products.
  • Experience in avionics industry, in both Military and Commercial Market Segments
  • PMP certification along with previous experience utilizing earned value metrics
