About this role

Our Opportunity

The Respect at Work team is expanding, this is a great opportunity to be part of a global team, influencing meaningful outcomes at a regional level.

The Principal, Respect at Work designs and executes Newmont's Respect at Work frameworks and programs, in alignment with Business Unit priorities and needs. In this role, you will partner with leaders to promote a respectful workplace culture, by embedding respect in our business systems and processes, identifying priorities and trends to respond to and building awareness with teams in North America.

Your role will consist of

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Deliver SME support to the business to drive a targeted response to Respect at Work issues.
  • Drive improvements at a Business Unit and Site level, referencing industry best practice, global frameworks, and gap assessments.
  • Facilitate the incorporation of Respect at Work principles into existing systems and processes.
  • Develop and implement feedback mechanisms and metrics to measure effectiveness and workforce perceptions on progress to promote a culture of respect.


Your training, skills, and experience checklist

This is an influential leadership role and requires experience in partnering cross functionally, and with Leaders to design and help execute cultural change programs. We are open to the background you may bring; tertiary qualifications in Organizational Psychology, Health and Safety, Human Resources, Counselling or Social work will strengthen your application.

Key skills and attributes include:

  • Skilled in change management principles and communication, particularly in system implementation and behavioural change
  • Passion and determination to deliver cultural change programs that promote a respectful and inclusive workplace culture
  • Experience coaching and supporting leaders to build a team culture that is psychologically safe.
  • Understanding of operational risks and challenges when engaging with a diverse operational workforce.
  • Ability to scope, develop and pilot innovative responses to Respect at Work issues, in alignment with business priorities within a geographical region.


Working conditions and location

  • The preferred location for this position is the Denver corporate headquarters, however qualified candidates in Vancouver or in proximity to any of our locations in Canada are also encouraged to apply.
  • Position may be required to travel domestically and/or internationally
  • Flexible hours required at times to accommodate global nature of work

The salary range offered for this role is USD $120,480 - 143,070. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate's salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.

This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company's performance and their own individual performance.
