Position: Principal Structural Engineer

Responsibilities:

Provide structural engineering services on large or mega projects to Worley and its customers applying excellent knowledge of the fundamental requirements of civil/structural engineering, and the basic requirements of other engineering fields. Develop quality and accurate structural engineering deliverables that meet Worley's, its customers' and applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory specifications, on time and within budget. Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions independently utilizing extensive technical and practical experience in offshore structural engineering. Participate in relevant meetings, prepare progress reports, and comply with required checking procedures. Manage structural engineering project requirements and ensure the project scope is clear and that changes comply with project change management processes. Provide advice during procurement, construction and commissioning activities including but not limited to overseeing requisitions, technical bid evaluations and purchase order preparation. Act as the Structural Engineering Lead on specific projects. Outline project requirements including actively promoting workshare, where appropriate, assign tasks and supervise progress. Proactively resolve any discrepancies between Worley and its Customer's requirements. Keep up-to-date with the latest developments and technical innovations in structural engineering. Communicate effectively with the structural engineering team and project stakeholders, including the Customer. Assist and support junior personnel within the structural engineering team. Lead engineering to design interface for global 3-D model development of the following: engineering planning for decommissioning and demolition works, engineering planning for commissioning and installation works, and engineering planning for fabrication / construction works. Provide engineering input to and perform review of global 3-D model output of Demolition based material take offs, Installation based material take offs, Fabrication based material take offs, and Weight control development. Interface engineering and design functions of multiple 3-D engineering and design software systems, including but not limited to STAAD / STAAD Pro, Teekla, Aveva PDMS, Aveva E3D, Hexagon S3D, Autodesk, MicroStation. Perform and oversee integration of 3rd party site survey data into engineering and design 3-D modeling software for implantation of fabrication, installation, and demolition works, including but not limited to 2-D site planning, 3-D site planning, Integrated support of engineering work pack delivery by design and drafting personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's in Civil Engineering or a related field and 144 months of progressive offshore structural engineering/design experience, including experience in analysis of topsides for floating and fixed platforms as well as the design of jackets for fixed platforms, experience with 3-D engineering and design software systems, e.g. STAAD / STAAD Pro, Teekla, Aveva PDMS, Aveva E3D, Hexagon S3D, Autodesk, MicroStation, experience working in multi-disciplinary projects and teams with cross discipline / cross project experience between Mining and Minerals development, Pharma based building and infrastructure, Refining & chemicals plants, offshore oil & gas development, and/or offshore green energy development.
