Key job responsibilities

We are seeking a Principal Technical Program Manager to help us make our visions reality.In this role, you will work with Product Management, Science and Engineering to shape the vision and then drive the execution of GenAI, Machine Learning, and Personalization innovation at Amazon Music. You will invent and streamline processes to increase our efficiency and effectiveness; collaborate with our partners and secure support of our dependencies; and add incredible value through recognizing and assessing risks, proposing trade-offs, driving prioritization and keeping the team focused on their goals. You will work at all levels of the organization from diving deep into technical problems with the engineers and AI/ML scientists to presenting our plans and status to executive leadership.

Our team is focused on building a personalized, curated, and seamless music experience. We want to help our customers discover up-and-coming artists, while also having access to their favorite established musicians. We build systems that are distributed on a large scale, spanning our music apps, web player, and voice-forward audio engagement on mobile and Amazon Echo devices, powered by Alexa to support our customer base. Amazon Music offerings are available in countries around the world, and our applications support our mission of delivering music to customers in new and exciting ways that enhance their day-to-day lives.

About the team

We build systems that are distributed on a large scale, leverage the latest AI/ML technologies, spanning our music apps, web player, and voice-forward audio engagement on mobile and Amazon Echo devices, powered by Alexa to support our customer base.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

- 7+ years of technical product or program management experience

- 5+ years of software development experience

- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems

- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 8+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience

- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $159,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $275,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
