Principal Technical Program Manager, Identity and Access Management
Austin, Texas
Employer: Amazon
Industry: Project/Program/Product Management--Technical
Salary: $159300 per year
Job type: Full-Time
The Amazon Identity and Access Management Security team is transforming the way Amazon and its subsidiaries implement authentication and authorization technology. Our team is at the forefront of developing and securing identity solutions that ensure secure and seamless access to our globally distributed infrastructure. Amazon's identity services empower businesses and customers to implement their technical workflows confidently and securely by providing flexible controls that meet bespoke security requirements.
Key job responsibilities
As a Principal Technical Program Manager, you will independently lead broad cross-organization efforts from the early stages through release. You will be responsible for influencing organizational priorities and technical direction, engaging with stakeholders across Amazon. You will represent difficult trade-off decisions and debates clearly to senior leaders to help them understand options. You will be able to identify when a solution requires additional technical guidance or unlocks powerful capabilities. You will manage cross-functional and cross-organization communication to ensure all stakeholders are informed, and needs are aligned. You will guide the technical direction to deliver a solution that meets Amazons high standards for customer satisfaction, efficiency, stability, extensibility, simplicity, and operational excellence.
A day in the life
You will focus on identifying opportunities to scale and automate working with multiple identity teams across the globe. A Principal TPM in this job needs to deeply understand the end-to-end architecture of identity systems. They will work with business and product stakeholders, software, QA, training, and operations teams to drive changes to optimize complex systems designed for traditional authentication and authorization. The optimal candidate can articulate when a new service, integration or interface is needed (and when it is not). They write high level technical and functional documentation to clearly articulate implementation plans.
