SCOPE OF POSITION:
Completes print production jobs on various types of printing press machines, including digital, flexographic, web, screen, or others. Reviews job specifications and complete setup tasks, including filling ink, calibrating machine, and loading stock. Conducts visual inspection of samples prior to running job. Performs in-process quality inspections utilizing standard testing protocols. Completes all required production logs and documentation. Interprets equipment diagnostics, troubleshoots breakdowns, and makes necessary adjustments to complete the job. Performs regular maintenance, cleaning, and changeovers of press from one job to another. Maintains a clean and safe workspace.

  • Reviews work instructions and job order to determine settings and adjustments required to set up automatic screen printing machine.
  • Sets and adjusts feed rollers, spindle reel, printing screens, and bolts to specifications.
  • Starts oven and sets / checks curing temperature and UV exposure specified for printing run.
  • Determines from job order the screen, color and sequence of printing.
  • Compares color to control sample as required through color match software or visual check.
  • Adjusts position of design or screen to ensure specified color print registration.
  • Inspects printed sheets for smears, registration and other defects.
  • Counts and records quantities printed in production log.
  • Maintains inventory of supplies needed to operate printing machines.
  • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Troubleshoots issues with printing machine and makes basic repairs. Performs routine maintenance on printing machines.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE/ EDUCATION: (Minimum Education and/or Experience required)
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 0-2 years' experience and Vo-Tech training or combination of education and experience.
  • Previous related experience preferred.
  • Able to bend or kneel frequently.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
COMPETENCIES:
  • Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to operate or to quickly learn to operate various printing machines and related software.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
