Job Duties

The Virginia Department of Environmental Quality, Piedmont Regional Office is seeking a qualified candidate to perform a wide variety of assignments in support of all regional programs. Responsibilities included, but are not limited to, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) processing and coordination, administrative support services, procurement assistance, scanning, front desk and program media support ensuring effective and efficient assistance in office management activities.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge of FOIA rules and regulations. Ability to search and compile electronic and paper records for responsive documents for FOIA requests and deliver records to requester within deadlines. Ability to meet deadlines and scheduled action dates. Strong organizational, analytical, written, and verbal skills. Strong interpersonal and public relation skillsets. Experience using a multi-line telephone system and working knowledge of office practices, procedures, and equipment; ability to use computers, Microsoft Office Applications, with emphasis on excel spreadsheets, knowledge of scanner and imaging database management. Experience with purchasing and knowledge of state purchasing/procurement process or equivalent.

Additional Considerations

Combination of education or training, with additional experience in the following areas: FOIA rules and regulations, critical thinking skills, strong attention to detail, ability to work under tight deadlines and keep tasks moving, processing FOIA request, utilizing Microsoft Office software (Access, Adobe, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), working knowledge of email, calendar and contact management, and state procurement procedures and practices.
