The Staff Nurse will be responsible for:

  • Providing care for patients throughout procedural services
  • Supporting the Procedural Float Pool specialty, the designated staff nurse:
    • Prepares patients for procedures and provides post procedure and extended recovery care for inpatient and ambulatory populations.
    • The rotation will include, but not limited to, pre/intra/post procedure Cross Sectional Interventional Radiology, Procedural Recovery Unit, Endoscopy (main and BWH 850 offsite campus), Infusion, Neuro Interventional Radiology, Angiography, Women's Health Center, Echo, Cath Lab, and Electrophysiology Lab.
    • The rotation may also cover echo contrast enhancing administration and pre-procedure evaluation.
  • Working collaboratively to provide excellent care to patients and families in the safest environment.


Qualifications

To qualify you must have:

  • Education: Graduate of an approved school of nursing with current registration in Massachusetts. For newly licensed nurses a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is required.
  • Experience:

    • Procedural Recovery Unit experience preferred
    • Intensive Care Unit experience required
    • Experience in a procedural setting such as endoscopy, EP Lab or Cath Lab preferred.
    • Intravenous skill experience preferred
    • Cardiology experience required
    • ACLS required
  • Other: Membership in professional organizations is recommended and certification in a specialty area is encouraged.
  • Able to work weekend rotation per the MNA contract
