Process Engineer II

Piper Health & Sciences is seeking a Process Engineer II to join a unique research organization in the Frederick, MD area. This role executes and develops downstream production processes.

Responsibilities for the Process Engineer II include:
• Perform lab-scale downstream processing of product.
• Prepare solutions/reagents and set-up process equipment for lab-scale experiments.
• Execute and utilize downstream production processes including AKTA/Unicorn, TFF, UFDF, etc.
• Assists with maintaining laboratory inventory to include but not limited to restocking consumables, regents, and equipment as needed.
• Prepare technical reports, data analysis, and documentation of process development.
• Perform independent method writing protocols.

Qualifications for the Process Engineer II include:
• 2+ years of downstream production and/or process development experience in an industry or academic setting.
• Proficiency with AKTA/Unicorn, TFF, or similar downstream processing equipment is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or a similar scientific field is required.

Compensation for the Process Engineer II includes:
• Salary range: approximately $60,000 - $80,000 annually, commensurate with experience
