Process Engineers focus on the design, operation, control, and optimization of chemical, physical/mechanical, and biological processes for projects such as pipelines, water and sewage systems. They develop and modify process formulations, methods, and controls to meet quality standards and recommend and implement improvements, modifications, or additions to document work. Performs engineering work under close supervision requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out a sequence of related process engineering tasks such as the preparation of simple plans, designs, calculations, costs and bills of material in accordance with established codes, standards and drawings. Applies professional concepts and expands upon learning while performing various phases of engineering work receiving detailed instruction.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Use knowledge of general concepts of process engineering elements through investigation and analysis, to support engineering projects such as pipelines, water and sewage systems.
  • Perform basic calculations to analyze, model and design process system components using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
  • Assist team in preparing process designs, drawings, specifications, presentations and reports, and gather information to support design decisions.
  • Assist in basic interpretation and verify compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards and practices.
  • Work with other engineering disciplines and professionals in the coordination of the project under the direction of a senior engineer.
  • Assist the team in providing support services during construction that can include submittal reviews, responses to requests for interpretation, contract document clarifications, and on-site field observation.
  • Perform field work related to construction related activities as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by senior engineering staff.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Basic understanding of general civil and environmental engineering concepts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software, with emphasis on Microsoft Excel
  • Introductory experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, demonstrated work experience preferred.
  • Introductory experience with ArcGIS, demonstrated work experience preferred.
  • Ability to participate and collaborate in a project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought.
  • Ability to work and excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Education and Experience
  • Education: Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Engineering with emphasis in Environmental, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience: Minimum of 0-2 years preferred
  • Licensure: Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment
