A Day In The Life
The Procurement Buyer/Planner, under the leadership of the Supply Chain Manager, will support the ASG mission to provide customers with innovative, high-quality products delivered on-time and at competitive prices. Through the application of procurement and planning best practices, the Procurement Buyer/Planner will manage supplier relationships, optimize inventory levels, and ensure the timely flow of materials and components in support of ASG production. The Procurement Buyer/Planner will (1) execute to documented procurement process; (2) follow procurement and stocking strategies as set by the Supply Chain Manager; (3) develop & maintain supplier relationships; (4) track incoming shipments and predict arrival of raw materials and components, and (5) identify/present opportunities for savings, and continuous.

As a Procurement Buyer/Planner you will:
  • Develop and maintain supplier relationships and follow procurement strategies set forth by the Supply Chain Manager
  • Perform duties that align with ASG's business objectives, Friedkin Core Values, and guidelines for business conduct.
  • Maintain the end-to-end procurement processes including supplier orders, invoicing, ASG receipts, and inventory of raw materials and components.
  • Maintain consistency of system pricing throughout the value chain.
  • Maintain visibility of supplier production rates, raw materials, and stock levels
  • Assist Supplier production planning to align with ASG forecasting and rate of materials consumption
  • Monitor and optimize inventory levels to balance supply with demand while minimizing excess stock.
  • Support ASG Project Management in new product launches, and end of life material rundown.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure advantageous terms and conditions in favor of ASG
  • Implement and maintain procurement metrics to track performance, identify areas for improvement, and report to supply chain management.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall performance.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and ASG policies in all procurement activities.
  • Identify and mitigate procurement risks through proactive planning and problem-solving.
  • Perform sourcing activities in support of organizational priorities both within, and outside of the ASG supply base.


What We Need From You

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field, three to four years related experience in procurement and planning and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and procurement management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Analytical Capability (intermediate)
  • Data Analysis (spend, supplier, contracts) - create, collect and analyze data to make recommendations.
  • Project and Time Mgmt- excellent time management and project management skills. Ability to participate in projects in collaborative environment with competing priorities.
  • Day to Day support on procurement activities and requirements.
  • Excellent Communication Skills- not only written/verbal, but ability to listen effectively and then act appropriately
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret various forms of contracts, engineering drawings, specifications and testing requirements, test results, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; more specifically waffles and graphs.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.

Physical and Environmental Requirements The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of the job, the associate is required on a daily basis to analyze and interpret data, communicate, and remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the work day and frequently access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The associate is regularly required to move about the office and occassionally around the industrial production environment. The associate must frequently move up to 10 pounds and occasionally move up to 25 pounds. The associate will occassionally be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, areas in which moving mechanical parts, fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals are present, and outside weather conditions.  The noise level for this position will vary and the associate may be exposed to loud noise levels.
