Job Overview:
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented technical product/apparel designer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical apparel design, a passion for golf & fashion, and the ability to translate innovative concepts into functional and stylish golf apparel. This role requires a blend of creativity, technical expertise, an understanding of performance fabrics and garment construction, and work within provided budgets. The role will primarily be working with Pro Shop's newly acquired brand, Sugarloaf Social Club and over time will work across the portfolio of Pro Shop brands.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and Development: In collaboration with team members, help to create and develop technical designs for golf apparel, including tops, bottoms, outerwear, and accessories, ensuring functionality, comfort, and style.
• Technical Specifications: Prepare detailed technical specifications, including sketches, CAD drawings, and tech packs, to communicate design concepts and construction details to the production team.
• Material Selection: Source and select appropriate performance fabrics and trims that meet the requirements for durability, breathability, moisture-wicking, and comfort.
• Prototyping and Sampling: Collaborate with pattern makers and sample sewers to develop prototypes and oversee the sampling process, ensuring designs meet quality and performance standards.
• Fit and Functionality: Conduct fit sessions and make necessary adjustments to ensure garments meet fit, comfort, and performance criteria for golf.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors
• Trend Analysis: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies in golf apparel to inform and inspire design concepts.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the product development, marketing, and sales teams to ensure designs align with brand vision, market needs, and customer preferences.
• Quality Assurance: Review and approve final production samples, ensuring they meet design intent, quality standards, and technical requirements.
• Documentation: Maintain organized and detailed design records, including design iterations, material selections, and production notes.

Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in technical apparel design, preferably within the sportswear or golf apparel industry.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD tools.
• Knowledge of pattern making and garment construction techniques.
• Fabric Knowledge: Strong understanding of performance fabrics, trims, and garment construction methods specific to sportswear.
• Creativity: Ability to create innovative designs that combine aesthetics with functionality.
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail in design execution and technical documentation.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey design concepts and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Passion for Golf: Genuine interest in golf and an understanding of the specific apparel needs of golfers.
• Ability to maintain and work with budgets

The salary range for this position is between $100,000 and $120,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
