Position Summary

This position provides engineering support, design, testing and leadership to support commercialization of products from Oceaneering's Technology Group.

Duties & Responsibilities

The individual will be assigned to the technology group for technology development within Oceaneering. This function will support all business units within Oceaneering with specific development projects which bring new added value to business streams.

While in the technology group, the engineering technician will:

• Be a driving force/leader for Oceaneering's new technology developments.
• On a regular basis, the engineering technician can be expected to:

o Participate in technical reviews.
o Participate in operational risk assessment activities, such as HazID and HazOP.
o Support assembly and testing of prototype and first article products.
o Develop operational procedures.
o Develop testing procedures for qualification, factory acceptance, and offshore readiness testing.
o Support CAD work for development and test assemblies.

• Additionally, the engineering technician will need to support early inception of the development into the business unit. This will include:
• Perform engineering duties necessary to prepare systems and personnel for offsite campaigns. These may include:

o Design modifications to existing equipment.
o Design of test equipment.
o Participating in operational risk assessments.
o Preparing scopes of supply.
o Preparing project-specific procedures.

• Provide support during the manufacturing, testing, and assembly phases of a project.
• Provide support to both onsite and offsite testing. May include offshore support as well in some instances.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

• Minimum One-year minimum product development experience.
• Experience with common lab equipment (power supplies, oscilloscopes, signal injection) and shop floor tools.
• Experience in analyzes complex electrical controls circuits for functionality, electrical loads, and failure modes.
• Formal or on the job training in progressive responsibility and experience in electrical/electronic assembly.
• Experience in interpret, redlining, modifying complex electrical schematics.
• Experience in soldering and electrical assembly.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

DESIRED

• Two (2) years of engineering experience.
• Technical Associates Degree completion a plus.
• Experience with AutoCAD or other CAD packages.
• Experience with electro-hydraulic control systems.
• Knowledge of operations in the subsea industry is strongly desired.
• Knowledge of power and communications(copper/fiber) distribution.
• Knowledge of ROV's and robotic systems.

Additional Information

This position is Hybrid - Remote and will require commuting to a designated office. Hybrid work schedules are determined by the hiring manager based on business need.
