Perform engineering duties in planning and designing engineered wood products for building structures. Engineering duties may include developing and reviewing technical product literature and design tables, developing product design and software specifications for engineered wood products, developing manufacturing specifications, resolving technical manufacturing and product application field problems with engineered wood products, preparing code evaluation submittal documentation, conducting laboratory experiments to evaluate product performance, supporting manufacturing activities including plant audits, and verifying product code conformance. Job requires up to 10% reimbursed travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering

Two years of work experience in each of the following :

• Generating and interpreting structural drawings in AutoCAD, SolidWorks or similar software for building design
• Load development and structural analysis and modeling of buildings and components
• Conducting inspections or audits of construction sites or manufacturing sites.

Experience must include six months of work experience in each of the following:

• Developing Visual Basic macros for engineering design and analysis;
• Applying statistical techniques on test data from structural timber testing to evaluate product performance and establish mechanical properties
• Using ASTM test procedures to destructively test wood and wood composites
• Conducting data analysis to evaluate product performance
• Applying the National Design Specification for Wood Construction (NDS) to design wood structures and components.
• Requires Engineer-in-Training Certification.
• Experience may be gained concurrently.

Salary: $73,174 to $ 80,000 per year.
