Primary Objective: Work on the development of products and accessories for our rental fleet, resolve design-related failures and manage product improvement and cost reduction projects. Provide engineering support for sales and after-sales. Reports to the Product Manager.

Responsibilities: (Product Engineer responsibilities include, but not limited to, the following)
  • Completion of final inspections for all rental equipment builds in NJ; ensuring all final drawings are accurate, and BOM's updated.
  • Participation in Quality program as engineer to provide drawings, BOM, and other required documentation.
  • Review of quality reports for trends in problem areas of production.
  • Participation in monthly warranty and project reviews with the operations team to help identify common failures within the fleet.
  • Prepare technical drawings, layouts, and engineering documents to ensure accuracy and feasibility of the project.
  • Provide build package for production schedule to facilitate proper planning and material procurement.
  • Support suppliers in the development of subcontracted products or services.
  • Approval of technical scope, analysis of drawings, and holding meetings when required
  • Ensure all assigned rental units have a full set of drawings, BOM, spec sheets, and manuals once complete.
  • Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and initial operation of boiler systems.
  • Ensure equipment designs meet all federal OSHA standards, ASME Standards, and Powerhouse quality design and standards
  • Develop training materials and provide technical guidance to operators and maintenance staff.

Additional Tasks
  • Create initial design and drawings for review and approval.
  • Equipment selection and procurement; evaluate/select boiler equipment/accessories to meet project requirements.
  • Answer questions from other departments on rental equipment's technical capabilities.
  • Support Powerhouse Aftermarket via customer site walkdowns and engaging external engineering firms when required.
  • Active participation in PQM/TQM/TCM meetings, working to solve quality problems or propose product improvements.

Requirements:
  • Degree in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering or related field
  • 3-5 years' prior experience in manufacturing/production/industrial or similar industry
  • Proficiency with Inventor/Solidworks/CAD, AutoCAD, etc.
  • Previous experience in project management, ideally boiler system products
  • Deep knowledge of engineering principles related to boiler systems including thermodynamics/heat transfer/fluid mechanics
  • Knowledge of regulations/standards applicable to boiler systems in the US
  • Able to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
