As a Production Manager, your primary responsibility is to oversee the activities of supervisory staff in charge of production. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the health, safety, and morale of production employees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Production Efficiency: Ensure that production schedules are met while maintaining high-quality standards.
Collective Agreements: Handle collective agreement issues, including addressing grievances.
Performance Review: Regularly review departmental performance, considering budget, financial plans, and plant-operation goals. Develop continuous improvement plans.
Team-Based Approach: Introduce team-based manufacturing concepts to production employees.
Strategic Planning: As a member of the Management Team, contribute to planning, budgeting, and implementing Total Quality Management (TQM) and the 5S program.
Safety Focus: Maintain safe work practices and foster a safety-oriented attitude within the plant.
Job Requirements:
Supervisory Skills: Demonstrate strong supervisory and managerial skills, including effective planning, leadership, and delegation.
Assembly Operations Knowledge: Possess a working knowledge of assembly operation processes.
Cost Management: Understand cost center management, including budgeting and cost reduction plans.
Quality Focus: Be familiar with customer quality requirements.
Legal Awareness: Understand collective agreements, health, safety, environment regulations, and employment legislation.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Management, Production Management, or a related field in Manufacturing.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of progressive managerial experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
Skills:
Effective communication, strong leadership, and organizational abilities.
Proficiency in computer skills.
