Production Operator DS Fabrication 1st shift

Your role and responsibilities

Adhere to all safety requirements and company policies Fabricates raw steel/copper to produce a finished product to the internal/external customer expectations Reads blueprints or similar documentation, then fabricates components to those specifications Uses various machines (Automated and/or Manual) to accomplish assigned tasks Maintains logs, records, and reports concerning production, machine maintenance, and product inconsistencies Performs equipment preventative maintenance and performs basic repairs when needed Inventories tools, parts, and supplies; reports need to supervisor as required Periodically checks products per company policy to ensure quality and uniform completion; resolves any identified problems and alerts supervisor Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications for the role

  • High school diploma or equivalent required and 5 years of experience operating automated punches, lasers, or robotic/NC press brakes in a fabrication department. Trumpf, Salvagnini, Amada, Cincinnati, and Ehrt brands preferred
  • 7 plus years of experience operating automated punches, lasers, or robotic/NC press brakes in a fabrication department. Trumpf, Salvagnini, Amada, Cincinnati, and Ehrt brands preferred.
  • Experience training others to operate fabrication equipment.
  • Ability to use and interpret inspection tools - tape measure, calipers, and protractor
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering bill of materials, machining drawings and models.
  • Knowledge of 6S - sort, set, shine, standardize, sustain, and safety
  • Knowledge and use of necessary PPE
  • Ability to use cranes, fork trucks, or other lifting devices, as needed
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 40lbs
  • Ability to speak, read, and write the English Language and good communication skills.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out basic instructions
  • Basic computer and mathematical skills
  • Hand, eye coordination skills and use of both hands
  • Advanced analytical skills to enhance problem solving
  • Advanced computer skills, mathematical skills, and communication skills
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
