This position reports to

Production Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead a team within a Production unit or line to execute production processes, transforming parts and raw materials into ABB products in a timely and cost-effective manner. Each day, you will ensure continuous and efficient operation in accordance with volumes, schedules, procedures, drawings, and quality and safety standards and policies. You will also showcase your expertise by organizing and allocating resources to meet line production targets effectively and efficiently. The work model for the role is: onsite This role is contributing to the Electrification Smart Power division in Mebane, NC. You will be mainly accountable for: • Embraces diversity and treats every employee fairly and with respect as the basis for working together as members of the ABB Team. Develops and reinforces ABB Values in Action within team members • Lead a high quality, effective start of shift production meeting, ready to discuss all production issues, maintenance needs, etc. from the previous shift. • Maintains awareness of current or potential process and/or equipment issues under their area of responsibility. • Uses appropriate tools (WI's, SOP's, JST's, etc.) to establish and maintain a high level of operational and reliability discipline.

Qualifications for the role

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in leading in a manufacturing or product development environment or equivalent leadership experience.
  • Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production operations and machinery.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to complete reports and logs.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or a proven track record in leading continuous improvements projects preferred.
  • Project management skills to lead small Kaizen projects preferred.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that allows them to work for ABB in the United States
