Profee Auditor - Surgery

A healthcare employer in Houston, TX is seeking a Profee Auditor to join their team. This position is fully remote and is a contract role with help with a short term need on the team. In this role you will audit coders who coding from the operative reports. This position is required to review the operative report and all documentation and verify that all of the codes and modifiers selected by the coder are accurate before the claim is dropped. If any thing needs correcting you will need to document your findings so that they can be shared with the coders.

Required Skills & Experience

2 yrs experience auditing profee coders - surgical cases

5 yrs of Profee Coding experience

Experience with at least 1 of the following specialties -- Urology, Gastroenterology, OB/GYN or General Surgery

Experience coding surgeries from the operative report

Experience with EPIC

CPC or COC Coding Certification from AAPC

Knowledge of coding compliance policies, official coding guidelines, regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures affecting the coding process
