The Human Resources Division has an immediate opening for a Staff Services Analyst (SSA) in our Professional Development Unit.

The Staff Services Analyst (SSA) performs work of average difficulty related to expanding the Department's professional development program. This includes identifying, implementing, and facilitating professional development programs & platforms, facilitating the Department's Upward Mobility Program, collaborating with the Career Center on consultations with department staff, facilitating training courses and workshops in collaboration with various Department units, and the distribution, tracking, and reporting of Department probation reports and performance appraisal summaries.

Please note: The interview will require the applicant to come prepared to present a 10-15-minute PowerPoint presentation which reflects their training skills.

Telework Information

This position may be eligible for telework up to three (3) days per week and is required to report in-person to the designated headquarters office location a minimum of two (2) days per week. The amount of telework permitted is at the discretion of the Department and is subject to change, consistent with CDPH's Telework Program. All employees who telework are required to be California residents in accordance with Government Code 14200. Candidates who reside outside of the state of California may be interviewed; however, the selected candidate must have a primary residency in the state of California prior to appointment (and continue to maintain California residency) as a condition of employment. Failure to meet this requirement may result in the job offer being rescinded.

Business travel may be required , and reimbursement considers an employee's designated headquarters office subject to regulations and bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the designated headquarters office will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.

The Human Resources Division (HRD) partners with CDPH programs and management to provide guidance and consultative services on HR matters that are necessary for the Department to carry out its mission to deliver quality public health services. The mission of HRD is to support CDPH in attracting, hiring, and retaining quality employees.

The HRD is located in downtown Sacramento in the East End Complex across the street from the beautiful Capitol Park Rose Garden.
