Job Summary/Basic Function
This position will perform various duties, including:
- Oversight and coordination of various cross-disciplinary and community oriented projects centering "design-thinking" and applied aesthetics in real-world research.
- Cultivation of new academic and community partnerships that center design.
- Oversight of Matthew S. Browning Center for Design (MSBCD) budget
- Cultivation of new funding sources and donors
- Maintenance of MSBCD outreach efforts through websites, social media, etc.
- Formulation of foundational process and procedures for MSBCD general operations and project implementation
- Review and consideration of applications made to MSBCD for projects. Applications may arise from faculty, staff, students, and community partners
- Facilitate connections between MSBCD projects with appropriate faculty, staff, students, and community partners
- Oversight and supervision of faculty, staff, students, and community partners who develop or participate in projects through MSBSD
Required:
- MFA or comparable graduate-level degree in Design and related fields.
- Three-years minimum experience with applied design, human-centered design, design ethnography, service design, urban design, arts/community master-planning, or other related work experience.
Preferred
- Three-years experience in project management, overseeing multi-disciplinary teams working on interdisciplinary design projects.
- Demonstrated understanding of application of design principles to diverse professional fields.
