Duties

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as Support Administrator to support the day-to-day operations and management of special projects and programs for the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center Directorate of Operations.

  • Performs staff support for the office/organization.
  • Assists in supporting Director in priority of AFLCMC efforts.
  • Performs a wide variety of administrative and analytical support duties in relation to the day-to-day operations of the Directorate.
  • Manages and maintains calendars.

In order to qualify, you must meet the general experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management positions located here.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: General experience is 3 years of progressively responsible experience, one (1) year of which was equivalent to at least GS-4, that demonstrates the ability to analyze problems to:
  • Identify significant factors, gather pertinent data and recognize solutions;
  • Plan and organize work; and
  • Communicate effectively orally and in writing.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

  • Knowledge of a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of program effectiveness or the improvement of complex management processes in conjunction with ability to understand a range of administrative laws, policies, regulations, and precedents applicable to the administration of one or more important public programs.
  • In-depth knowledge of staff functions, management concepts, principles and methodologies in order to develop and implement innovative approaches and solutions to the Life Cycle Management Center (LCMC) issues and to provide definitive input on how proposed changes would be detrimental or would enhance the Center's mission and objectives.
  • Knowledge of the Directorate's human resource management mission and functions in order to access administrative requirements and needs in information management areas, and to evaluate effectiveness and efficiency of administrative operations throughout the Directorate.
  • Knowledge of automated systems to create reports and extract data from these systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; negotiates complex issues; and maintains professional and diplomatic relationships.
  • Ability to recognize and analyze complex analytical problems, conducts research, gather, assemble and analyze facts; draw conclusions; conduct analysis; devise recommended solutions; and summarize results of the entire process in briefings, papers, or reports suitable for top management use and decision-making.


Education

Education is substitutable (but not required) for general experience above: 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree.

NOTE: Equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for the GS-05 level
