The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position Summary

Columbia University Facilities and Operations supports the core educational and research mission of the University by maintaining a safe, beautiful, and functional campus environment, and providing services and spaces for campus life and activity outside the classroom.

Reporting to the Chief Equity and Inclusion Officer for Columbia University Facilities and Operations (CUFO), the Program Coordinator will be responsible for helping the CDO plan programs and other initiatives that support internal equity and inclusion efforts at CUFO.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the CDO to coordinate the execution of an Equity and Inclusion Strategic Plan.
  • Establish metrics to assess equity, inclusion, and feelings of belonging for staff member.
  • Coordinate programs targeted toward increasing staff engagement, and analyze data and other input from staff members around these efforts.
  • Coordinate logistics for these programs and initiatives, working with staff members around CUFO to ensure that they run smoothly, are well-attended, and have a positive impact on their participants.
  • Serve as a liaison between the CDO and CUFO staff - both unionized and non-unionized.
  • Assist in assessing staff needs around equity, inclusion, belonging, and career advancement, and support the CDO in responding to those needs in a manner that positively impacts the staff and CUFO as a whole.
  • Work closely with staff members responsible for equity and inclusion efforts at CUFO, including the Equity and Inclusion Council, Employee Resource Groups, and other departments, to ensure that these efforts are successful.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree, and a minimum of 0- 2 years related experience. Education and/or experience preferably in a field that signals passion and commitment to equity and inclusion, such as social sciences, gender studies, critical race and/or ethnicity studies.
  • Experience in collecting and analyzing data.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to connect and relate to people from all socioeconomic backgrounds and job levels.
  • A pragmatic mindset with a demonstrated understanding of the rate of change in a large and complex environment.
