Job Summary

Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, coordinates the various functions of designated Service area(s).

Coordinates and monitors the clinical guidelines of the service(s) employing cost efficient, safe, and effective practices.

Sets standards in collaboration with service(s) management and educators regarding staff educational needs. Serves as a liaison with Quality and Compliance.

Assists nursing director with operational functions directly related to a designated service area(s) programs, which may include identifying, implementing and monitoring performance improvement measures, collecting and collating established metrics for the service area and monitoring quality outcomes.

Identifies areas of opportunity, develops proposals for program development, strategies and revisions to existing programs.

Presents findings and recommendations to nursing director.

Provides input into procedure/protocol development; ensures compliance with regulatory agency standards, and provides interpretation of intent for clinical support activities.

As directed, provides input into policy development from a professional, technical or procedural perspective.

Provides input as requested on departmental goals and, as requested, assists in assessment and goal attainment.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelors degree in Nursing or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Masters degree in Nursing preferred.

2. Licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Michigan.

3.Two to three years of experience in designated service area(s). Experience in a leadership role, such as clinical care coordinator, nurse preceptor or charge nurse, preferred.
