Job Description

The Program Director will develop and oversee the operations of the branch's youth and teen programs to meet the needs of the community. This includes planning, organizing, implementing, supervising, and evaluating all programs, budget planning, collaboration, and staff development.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent.

Two to three years of related experience is preferred.

Able to complete Y provided training and certifications including Child Abuse Prevention, CPR, First Aid, AED; and Bloodborne Pathogens.

Completion of YMCA program-specific certifications.

Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.

YMCA Team Leader or Multi-Team Leader certification preferred.

Essential Functions

Direct and supervise youth and teen programs including, but not limited to, summer day, camp, basketball, gymnastics, volleyball, gym, soccer, and school day off to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives.

Ensure compliance with all YMCA and state licensing policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Maintain all appropriate forms and documentation in accordance with these policies.

Establish, implement, and evaluate new youth and teen programs. Compile program statistics. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of, and participation in programs.

Recruit, hire, train, develop, schedule, and direct personnel and volunteers as needed in the areas of roles & responsibilities.

Review and evaluate staff performance. Develop strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.

Assist in the marketing and distribution of program information, may organize and schedule program registrations. May review and process program scholarship applications.

Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations.

Develop and monitor program budgets to meet fiscal objectives.

Coordinate use of facilities space for activities and events.

Assist in YMCA fundraising activities and special events.

Model relationship-building skills such as Listen First in all interactions. Respond to member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.

Support the branch youth programs by subbing/filling in as needed.
