Job Profile

Job Summary

This leadership role will oversee facility planning and activation for projects under the Harris Health $2.9-billion Strategic Capital Plan. The Program Director - Planning and Activation is responsible for leading and coordination all aspects of planning and activation of new hospital facilities, as well as major renovations or expansions of existing facilities. This will include management of internal and external resources at the System Level and Pavilion level required for coordination and oversight of capital project planning through facility activation. This includes facilitating communication, collaboration, and knowledge acquisition among all stakeholders (system and pavilion leadership, physicians, hospital staff, nurses, corporate, etc.) in high reliability principles and performance improvement methodologies. The Program Director will oversee the development of a Lean Six Sigma Quality improvement system to help the organization establish ongoing performance improvement in capital project planning and activation and move management, including change management processes to support the transition to new facilities, including workflows, stakeholder engagement, communication planning, and move management. Reporting to the SVP Facilities Construction, this role will oversee the Clinical Liaisons assigned to the pavilions.

Minimum Qualifications

Degrees: Masters degree in a Health Care Related Field or MBA with Strong Healthcare Experience

Licenses & Certification:
Lean Six Sigma (Master) Black Belt certification within 2 years of employment if not held at time of appointment
Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) within 2 years of employment

Work Experience:
Ten (10) years of experience in acute hospital-based clinical care experience in healthcare with experience in complex systems. (critical care experience preferred)
Three (3) years of experience in healthcare quality. Experience in leading complex improvement projects and patient safety initiatives.

Management Experience: Five (5) years of Director level experience

Communication Skills: Above average Verbal Communication (Heavy Public Contact), Exceptional Verbal (Public Speaking), Writing/ Correspondence, Writing/ Reports

Proficiencies: MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Access, MS Outlook

Other Requirements:
In addition to strong, specialized Lean Six Sigma knowledge, the Program Director will need to demonstrate strong soft skills to be able to read the environment as well as build trust and collaborative relationships with team members across the organization.
Knowledge of evidence based practice guidelines for clinical care quality and patient safety. High degree of customer sensitivity and attention to detail. Outstanding communication skills, including listening skills; demonstrated formal/informal leadership skills; demonstrated track record of results from project management, team facilitation, or improvement team participation.
