The Program Director of Process Excellence plays an important role within the organization by leading and overseeing the continuous improvement function and building a measurable process excellence framework.. The incumbent will work closely with senior leadership to help identify and implement opportunities to more effectively execute core functions. The position will work to ensure there is direct alignment between core capabilities that will help support the execution of organizational roadmaps and strategies. The role will be critical in driving organizational process excellence and continuous improvement. The program director will also will oversee pre-planning activities associated with business case development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work to improve scoping in the business case development process in collaboration with senior leaders and staff
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to drive a culture of continuous improvement
  • Lead and direct process improvement initiatives
  • Evaluate and enhance existing business processes to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Implement best practices and industry standards to optimize project delivery and streamline workflows utilizing frameworks such as Kotters's Change Model or Lean Six Sigma
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement within the Johns Hopkins Health Plans, identifying opportunities to enhance processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement improvements and measure the impact on project outcomes.
  • Work with business partners to measure process improvements

Department Preferred Licensure: PMP/PMI is desired; Lean Six Sigma Desired

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Project Management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred) or equivalent practical experience 5 years of experience in Operations, Strategy, or Process Excellence roles, building relationships and leading operational initiatives

Skills Needed:
  • Understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.).
  • Understanding of business process management and key principles
  • Familiarity with project management and lean frameworks
  • Knowledge of data analysis and statistical tools
