Position Summary

This position provides statewide analysis and expertise in program evaluation, monitoring and analysis to assist improving consumer employment outcomes for DVR. Responsibilities include providing coordinated project development, management, analysis of progress, and monitoring activities for quality service delivery for the Division. The position also works with agency management team and external customers to identify service needs and gaps, to set priorities, makes recommendations for improvement, and develop projects in accordance with required federal regulations. This work requires delivery of training and technical assistance in cooperation with internal and external partners. This position has coordination responsibilities for achieving the goals identified in the state plan related to cooperative or collaborative agreement activities for unserved or underserved populations; and develops and implements statewide service monitoring and evaluation processes.

Salary Information

Starting pay is between $72,000 and $76,000 per year, depending on qualifications, plus an exemplary benefits package :

The classification title for this position is Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist-Advanced (schedule 12, range 63). A 12-month probationary period will be required. This position is not represented in a collective bargaining unit and is considered exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Pay will be set in accordance with the State Compensation Plan in effect at the time of appointment. Starting pay may vary for current state employees.

Job Details

Travel: Occasional statewide and national travel may be required for training, outreach, and meetings. Reimbursement for mileage and a daily meal allowance is provided when in travel status per travel guidelines. The reimbursement amount will be based on distance traveled from the headquarter location.

Eligibility to work in United States: Applicants must be legally entitled to work in the United States (i.e. a US citizen or national or a lawful permanent resident) at the time of appointment. DWD does not sponsor visas and is not an eligible OPT employer for those with F1 visas. This is not a contract position. Any appointment made will be contingent on the applicant completing the I-9 upon hire.

Qualifications

Qualifications marked with an asterisk (*) below will be evaluated in the first step of the selection process. Additional qualifications may be evaluated in subsequent steps.

You need to have the following experience:
  • *Managing the full life cycle of a project/study (i.e., identifying requirements/outcome, developing timelines/tasks, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating).
  • *Developing, planning, evaluating and/or analyzing data, policies, or programs
  • *Providing consultation and training on complex/technical information (e.g., regulations, policies, processes, etc.), both verbally and in writing, to persons/groups with limited familiarity of the topic.
  • Communicating effectively across teams with people from a variety of backgrounds/ organizational levels
Any of the following experience would be nice to have:
  • *Working with persons with barriers to employment or in another field related to vocational rehabilitation and/or possessing a related degree (e.g. human service, communications, business, project development, project management, etc.).
  • *Performing quality assurance related to a human service program
  • *Identifying, interpreting, and presenting data analysis
