Program Manager, Campus Safety and Security - Administrative Staff and unclassified pursuant to •124.11 (A) (30) and •3333.03 of the Revised Code. Serves at the pleasure of the Chancellor and in a fiduciary capacity to the Ohio Department of Higher Education. Reports to the Director, Student Wellbeing and Sexual Violence Prevention.
  • Assists director with conducting research, compiling data, and organization of materials related to campus safety, anti-hazing, campus sexual violence, and student wellbeing initiatives.
  • Manages grant programs related to campus security, student safety, and promoting community support, outreach, and cultural competency.
    • Reviews, interprets, and analyzes program guidelines to support grant initiatives.
    • Provides technical assistance to staff and institutions responsible for funded campus safety programs.
    • Collaborates with campus safety committee to ensure compliance with grant program requirements.
    • Assists with development, interpretation, and analysis of report requirements and data.
    • Assists in audit processes to identify gaps and barriers for successful implementation of campus safety programs.
  • Provides support to ODHE and coordination with other state agencies, boards, and commissions, as necessary, in the development and implementation of a statewide antisemitism policy.
  • Stays current with relevant federal and state laws and regulations regarding campus safety and student well-being (i.e., Clery Act, Collin's Law, Ohio House and Senate Bills, etc.).
  • Coordinates correspondence and scheduling of stakeholder meetings.
  • Maintains effective communications and working relationship with the Ohio School Safety Center, ensuring that ODHE's work is aligned and well-integrated with priorities of the Center.
  • Works collaboratively within ODHE to drive toward the purposeful integration of campus safety programs and services that lead to an improved system and student wellbeing outcomes.
  • Provides administrative assistance, support, and research to team members.
  • Represents the agency and student wellbeing team at meetings, conferences, and engagement opportunities with other state agencies and institutions of higher education as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in public administration, public policy, political science, or related field.
  • Ability to be organized, self-motivated, flexible, responsible and to effectively manage a variety of duties.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in written communications with staff, stakeholders, and others.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, flexible, professionally responsible, able to effectively manage a variety of duties simultaneously and work well as a member of a team.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications.


Preferred Qualifications :

  • An understanding of campus culture, student wellbeing, and/or campus safety.
  • Experience in working with institutions of higher education.
  • Interest in and knowledge of higher education policy.
  • Two (2+) years of experience writing, editing, and researching.
