Job Summary

The Adolescent Health Initiative (AHI), a program of Community Health Services (CHS) at Michigan Medicine works to transform the health care landscape to optimize adolescent health and well-being through practice improvement, education, research, and youth and community engagement.

The Program Manager role at AHI is a hybrid position (minimum 2 days in-office) that plays an integral role in advancing AHI's mission and vision through innovative strategic initiatives and organizational guidance. As a key member of the leadership team, you will lead strategic initiatives, expand AHI's national presence, and manage a dynamic project portfolio. You will identify new business opportunities, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and create workflows that keep us on track to meet goals and deadlines. Additionally, you will analyze data to measure the effectiveness of interventions, projects, and programs. This role also includes supervising staff and student employees.

Responsibilities*

Grant and Budget Management
  • Lead the development of grants and budgets, providing strategic guidance, oversight, and facilitation.
  • Manage all phases of grant project, from initial design and timeline creation to data collections, personnel management, deliverable tracking, and final dissemination of results.

Project Management
  • Ensure fiscal responsibility by supervising budgeting, staffing, cost control, planning, goal setting, and process improvement efforts.
  • Define and implement measurable performance metrics to assess the success of projects and grant deliverables.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of web-based resources, ensuring relevance and usability for both internal and external audiences.
  • Manage Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications to ensure ethical standards in research projects.

Leadership and Team Management
  • Actively contribute as a key member of the AHI leadership team, driving decision-making and organizational growth.
  • Supervise and mentor staff and student employers, fostering growth and productivity.
  • Promote team engagement and alignment with the organization's mission through activities and policies that encourage collaboration and commitment.


Strategic Partnership Building
  • Build and nurture strategic partnerships while identifying new project sites for Quality Improvement Models and other business activities.
  • Support the development of publications and presentations, including abstracts for conferences.

Required Qualifications*
  • Bachelor's degree in appropriate field.
  • One or more years of supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience of working with youth ages 13-22.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to communicate in multiple formats (i.e. email, Teams messaging, telephone, chats, etc.) with teams working in hybrid setting.
  • Proficiency in developing grant proposals, executive summaries, funding reports, and internal memos.
  • Capacity for national travel to represent the organization as a presenter or exhibitor.
  • Experience and comfort working with and in diverse communities.

Desired Qualifications*
  • Master's degree in social work, public health, health administration, nursing, or related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience working or training with adolescents and/or youth development.
  • Training or experience in adolescent primary care, reproductive health, sexual health, mental health or youth development.
  • Experience with data collection, evaluation, coaching, or quality improvement.
  • Experience preparing and delivering training or presentations at conferences.

Background Screening
