The Program Manager - Occupational Health Services will support the Delta Air Lines Airport Customer Service (ACS), Cargo, GSE and Clean division in developing, harmonizing and managing best-in-industry Occupational Health and Safety programs, projects and services, and injury prevention policies and procedures. This position will also lead oversight of ACS Health Central facilities, business operations and development, and budget. The successful candidate will strategically lead ACS injury management services and processes in order to reduce Global Injury Rate (GIR) and Lost Work Days (LWD), while increasing Transitional Duty (TD) participation for the division. This role will partner with leaders in the ACS/CGO/GSE/Clean Operation, Global Health and Wellness, Corporate Safety, Human Resources and other relevant divisions to identify and solution improvements for ACS employees. This position reports directly to the Manager for ACS Health, Wellness & Ergonomics.

  • Fosters a safety-first environment by providing program support, training, accountability and recognition for personal and operational safety while building positive relationships with local and regional safety leaders
  • Develops, implements and directs strategies to reduce risk and impact of lost time injuries
  • Develops and manages large-scale initiatives and projects to improve occupational health resource utilization and development in the ACS environment
  • Provides contractual oversight and management for current occupational health partners
  • Oversight of OSHA injury reporting process to ensure timely, accurate injury reporting
  • Management of current and future vendor partnerships, performance and quality assurance
  • Liaises with third-party claims administrator (Sedgwick)
  • Leads and supports regional safety team members to ensure consistent, best practice administration of policies and procedures across the division
  • Uses efficient data collection and processing methods to analyze and interpret information, draw recommendations and drive actions to improve safety behaviors and performance
  • Uses project management tools to ensure accurate and timely planning and management of safety improvement initiatives
  • Oversees communications strategy for stakeholder groups to report on project status; collects and organizes feedback and action items; provides regular updates to stakeholders, sponsors, and others involved in the project including executive summaries and formal presentations
  • Sets goals, works independently and uses innovative strategies to find solutions to complex problems without fear of failure
  • Develops monthly performance reports, manages monthly vendor performance reviews
  • Escalates challenges as necessary to ensure awareness and assistance with resolution

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • Experience in managing budgets and external business partnerships
  • Exhibits strong analytical and written/oral communication skills to all levels of the organization
  • Project/Program management experience
  • Process/quality assurance skills
  • General understanding of OSHA recordkeeping guidelines, and the Worker's Compensation process
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with data management tools such as Tableau and/or PowerBI
  • Must be able to interpret and follow a wide variety of laws, rules, codes and regulations
  • Must be able to work in a time- sensitive environment with minimal supervision; must be a highly motivated self-starter
  • Candidates should have a strong history of collaboration as well as successful experience in leading and influencing others
  • Some travel and non-standard work hours may be required
  • Must be performing satisfactorily in current position
  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data

  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and have authorization to work in the United States

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Occupational Health and Safety Management, Industrial Safety/Hygiene or related degrees such as Business Management or Allied Health Services
